Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare

Ground Control to Major Tom
Ground Control to Major Tom
Take your protein pills and put your helmet on

Ground Control to Major Tom
Commencing countdown, engines on
Check ignition and may God’s love be with you

Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three, Two, One, Lift-off

This is Ground Control to Major Tom
You’ve really made the grade
And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it’s time to leave the capsule if you dare

This is Major Tom to Ground Control
I’m stepping through the door
And I’m floating in a most peculiar way
And the stars look very different today

Though I'm past one hundred thousand miles

For here
Am I sitting in a tin can
Far above the world
Planet Earth is blue
And there’s nothing I can do

Though I’m past one hundred thousand miles
I’m feeling very still
And I think my spaceship knows which way to go
Tell my wife I love her very much (she knows!)

Ground Control to Major Tom
Your circuit’s dead, there’s something wrong
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear....

am I floating round my tin can
Far above the Moon
Planet Earth is blue
And there’s nothing I can do.?

seven little poplings

seven little poplings that I once knew
red ones, pink ones, green ones too

but the one little poppet with the bunny in its fist
it led the others with a swish swish swish

down to the river they would go
float and glide, float and glide, to and fro

but the one little poppet with the bunny in its fist
it led the others with a swish swish swish

back from the river they would come
float and glide, float and glide, ho hum hum

but the one little poppet with the bunny in its fist
it led the others with a swish swish swish

swish swish swish swish swish swish swish
it led the others with a swish swish swish

Poppet checks out the newbie

Poppet wonders what type of strange creature this is. It doesn't seem to notice or mind Poppet's observations.

Fish moved in a short time ago, and spent time hiding behind a log until it was safe to explore. Fish has two little tankmates, and Poppet considers whether they have an interesting life in their little box of water. She suspects that, due to their excessively short memory, they might be easy to entertain, which brings up interesting possibilities.

Mistaken Identity

Ginger B. Poppet arrived here by mistake. She seems to have been destined for some other project, but what that was, nobody seemed to know. In preparation for project "whatever it was" she has two holes drilled in each side of her body. Since she had just traveled so far, it was decided by all that she might as well stay. She observed that she already was acquainted with some of the other residents, so she was satisfied.

We examined those holes together, and I suggested that she could be fitted for flash attachments, like my Kodak Brownie Starlet.

I don't believe she found that amusing, but it's hard to tell with Poppets.

Later, she suggested she might like some wings, or a tiara. I wondered how a tiara would have anything to do with fitting in her sides, since typically tiaras belong on the head. Poppets, of course, *sniff* at "typical."

"A tiara please. Make it very large. And twinkly."

After telling her that I probably couldn't do twinkly, we decided that shiny would be an acceptable compromise.

We came up with this design, and I apologized for my general lack of artistry, but she seemed to think it was sufficiently "fancy."

"Much specialer than any old musty flash attachments, don't you agree?"

Yes, Poppet.

Lady Latte Poppet wants to know when REAL drinks will be forthcoming

Latte: "hrmph. tea again."

Snowy: "I like tea."

Latte: "I may be persuaded to a taste."

Snowy: "Tradition is wonderful."

Latte: "I prefer modernization. Beans are the future!"

Snowy: *sigh* "Kids these days..."

The Lost Weekend

I got a virus on my computer Friday night. It was a bad one.

The poppets were, of course, very helpful, and very curious. The Daleks were hopeful there would be some exterminating.

some days require more than chocolate

We are car shopping this weekend to replace the one that got crunched. The weather is fantastic here, and it seems like a travesty to be spending it on car lots. Poppet likes the machines, and thinks we should choose this one.

Poppet questions the need for such extreme tactics.
